RESULTS
OF PAX INITIATIVE PROTESTING
After nearly two years
of court proceedings and faithful human protesting at the Erotica Sexually
Oriented Business (SOB) in downtown Wooster, we are thankful to say that VICTORY
has been accomplished. After losing several appeals the owner of the SOB closed
the doors for good in July of 2004.
PAX INITIATIVE wishes to take this opportunity to thank the City of Wooster law
department for their commitment in challenging the legitimacy of the right of
the SOB to operate at the chosen location. We also thank the Wooster City
Council members for their commitment in providing funds to legally pursue the
closing of the SOB.
It is commonly understood that the greatest asset in closing this dark business
was the unwavering commitment of the 100 plus individuals that endured the
ever-changing elements of our Northeast Ohio weather for nearly two years. We
are proud of these people; they have been a shining example in showing the
citizenry of our city that change can and does take place when determination,
commitment, perseverance and unity is practiced.
We encourage any and all communities to use our example as a “how to guide”
in accomplishing any and all worthy goals.
May God bless all who had a hand in purging Wooster of the Erotica SOB.
UPDATE:
Since the closing of the SOB nearly a year ago, the signs and florescent lights
have blatantly adorned the building where the Erotica SOB operated. On Friday
June 3, 2005 workers removed all indicators of what was once a house of evil.
